HISTORY Steloy Castings was originally established as Steloy Stainless Precision Castings (Pty) Ltd in 1984. Specialising in stainless steel castings, the company operated from its present premises in Ekandustria, Bronkhorstspruit, 100 km northeast of Johannesburg. In addition to expanding its alloy range over the years, it also acquired PD Foundries, an iron and steel foundry in Johannesburg in 1994, relocating it to Tungsten Street, Ekandustria in 1998.
In 2001 Steloy Stainless Precision Castings and PD Foundries merged to form the present Steloy Castings with two operational divisions, namely Cobalt Street and Tungsten Street. In March 2005 the company acquired a third foundry in Chamdor, Krugersdorp, 30km west of Johannesburg. The Chamdor foundry includes South Africa's only stainless steel spun/centrifugal casting plant.
The acquisition of this third foundry has enabled the group to expand its services to the petrochemical sector from static castings such as tube sheets, brackets and fittings (which have been supplied for many years) to the supply of fully fabricated coils assembled from static castings and spun cast tubes for reformer, ethylene cracking and direct reduction furnaces.
Located close to the source of many raw materials and within easy reach of South Africa's major industrial areas, we promise delivery of the finest cast products to processing companies throughout South Africa or anywhere in the world. |

PARTNERING PHILOSOPHY In order to develop long and mutually beneficial relationships with major customers, Steloy pioneered the partnering concept in the South African foundry industry. This is a vital component in the industry because a foundry supplies a service resulting in a component which in turn forms the basis for a product. Taking this a step further, Steloy was also the first South African foundry to adopt a sophisticated computer
aided foundry management system (CAFM), which plays a vital role in its ongoing dealings with customers from diverse industries.

| To ensure the most efficient customer service, Steloy Castings operates a series of working groups which hold the key to sound technical practices. The Technical Group takes responsibility for all technical subjects from the outset through to problems encountered and procedures involving QA and its implementation. A Production Group organises or implements all production procedures while the Sales Group implements the partnering concept. |
